One of our favorite homeschool activities each year is Heritage School. Kids get dressed up in their "old time" clothes and get to spend the morning in a real one-room schoolhouse. They do math on a slate board, bring in water from the outside pump, do recitations for each other, play old fashioned school yard games, and pack their beef jerky and corn bread lunches into tin cans.
